Hi neighbors!
Weâre working on growing our social media, and weâd love a little help from someone local. Weâre looking for a fun, engaging person who knows how to make great short-form videos. Think reels, little âaround townâ clips, and quick highlights that show off what makes our community awesome. Youâd be out and about filming, chatting with business owners, and helping us bring the newsletter to life on video.
If that sounds like you, hit reply and tell us a bit about yourself, your experience, and a link to any videos youâve made. Weâd love to meet you!
Also, we want to start doing more local giveaways because honestly, theyâre one of our favorite ways to say thank you. Weâd love to know what types of prizes youâd be most excited to receive. Click the poll below and vote for your favorite!

Weâre dreaming up future giveaways, so tell us, what kinds are you most excited about?

ð° Pflugerville lands $176 million for major water upgrades

The Gist: Pflugerville just secured a $176 million low-interest federal loan (through WIFIA) to upgrade major water and wastewater systems. The funding will help build a new wastewater treatment plant, expand collection lines, rehabilitate aging water mains, and support the big 54-inch Wilbarger Wastewater Interceptor project. City leaders say this lets them tackle long-needed improvements without putting a heavy cost burden on residents.
Why It Matters: This is the kind of infrastructure you donât think about until it fails. With Pflugerville growing so fast, strong water and wastewater systems are a must, and itâs good to see real support going toward long-term fixes now.

â»ïž Georgetown rolls out holiday recycling for lights, trees, and boxes

The Gist: Georgetown is offering free holiday string light recycling now through Jan. 30 at four drop off sites, including the Municipal Complex and Public Library. Residents can also recycle Christmas trees curbside on their regular yard trimmings day, as long as the trees are undecorated. Cardboard boxes and plain wrapping paper are accepted too, and trees can be dropped off at the Transfer Station from Jan. 2 to 31 at no cost.
Why It Matters: The programs help families cut down on holiday waste and keep local recycling systems running smoothly. Itâs nice to see Georgetown keeping these eco friendly traditions going each winter.

The Gist: Round Rock City Council approved $4.5 million to improve emergency response vehicles. The fire department will add four vehicles, including a mini pumper, an air truck, a Skeeter Rescue Side Brush Truck, and a new ladder truck. Delivery timelines range from 20 to 36 months.
Why It Matters: Stronger emergency equipment helps first responders stay ready for fast growing neighborhoods. A solid investment in the city teams that show up when it matters most.
