🏥 New VA clinic coming to Round Rock

The Gist: A new $44.5 million Veterans Affairs clinic is coming to 4425 University Blvd. in Round Rock, with doors expected to open in 2027. The facility will bring about 100 new jobs and expand access to primary care, mental health, and specialty services for local veterans. The location was chosen to meet growing demand, with more than 28,000 veterans living within a quick 30-minute drive.

Why It Matters: This new clinic means our veterans can get the care they’ve earned, right here at home. It’s great to see Round Rock continuing to grow in ways that support the people who have served our country and our community.

🚗 Round Rock moves forward on Kenney Fort extension

The Gist: Round Rock City Council has approved a $500,000 purchase of 3.7 acres to build the next section of Kenney Fort Boulevard. This new stretch will run from Old Settlers Boulevard to CR 112, eventually connecting with future extensions toward University Boulevard. Design work is expected to wrap up by next fall.

Why It Matters: The project is another step toward improving north-south access across the city, helping ease congestion for commuters and local drivers alike. It’s progress that’ll hopefully make getting around town just a little smoother for everyone.

🎃 Pumpkin Cheese Ball

This pumpkin cheese ball is a festive, no-fuss appetizer made with cream cheese, cheddar, and a crunchy cheese puff coating. I made it for a Halloween party last year and it was a total hit. It’s quick, quirky, and guaranteed to be the talk of your spooky spread!

🍢 Skewers, spice, and Indonesian comfort

150 Sundance Pkwy Suite 400, Round Rock

Bringing the flavors of Indonesia to Round Rock, Sate Texas is a cozy spot where skewers take center stage. Pork, chicken, and tempeh satay come hot off the grill with just the right mix of char and tenderness, paired with fragrant rice, pickled veggies, and a kick of sambal.

Friendly service and a laid-back vibe make it easy to settle in, and specialties like bakso soup or iced cendol keep regulars coming back.
