Happy last week of school to all the parents riding the end-of-year rollercoaster!
Our "baby" is graduating kindergarten today, and somehow our big girl is headed into 3rd grade. That was the grade I used to teachāthose were the ābig kidsāāso yeah, this oneās hitting a little harder than expected.
Iām so excited to soak up these next 12-ish weeks of summer with the kids at homeāand you better believe Iāll be keeping an eye out for all the best local events and activities to help keep everyone happy and entertained.

šļø Griffith Building nears remodel finish line
š¶ Georgetown joins Regional Animal Shelter
š“ ROCK: Ride On Center for Kids
After nearly nine years with Round Rock PD, K-9 Lucy is officially off duty. Trained in explosives detection and tracking, she served on 200+ deploymentsāincluding the 2018 Austin Bomber case.
Now, Lucyās trading patrols for hikes, swims, and well-earned belly rubs with her handler. Her service was more than exemplaryāit was deeply appreciated by her department and community. Read more HERE.
Round Rockās historic Griffith Building is getting a major refresh, with window replacements now approved to fix leaks and mold found during renovations. The updated windows will keep the buildingās classic look while improving durability.
Once complete this fall, the space will house an art gallery, visitor center, and Round Rock Chamber offices. The project also includes a new paseo linking downtown streets and connecting to the new library. Itās all part of a broader effort to enhance walkability and downtown access. Read more HERE.
Starting mid-July, Georgetown will officially join the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, strengthening a long-standing regional partnership. The move follows voter approval of a $15M bond and will enhance services like pet adoptions and lost pet support.
By joining forces with Cedar Park, Leander, Round Rock, and Hutto, Georgetown helps expand shelter capacity and maintain WCRAS as a no-kill facilityāall while keeping animal care close to home. Read more HERE.
