Can you believe summer technically hasn’t even started yet? The solstice is still a few days away, but it already feels like we’re halfway through. Time’s flying, and we’re doing our best to soak up every warm, popsicle-sticky minute of it.

Lately we’ve been having fun checking out all the fun play spots around town. Altitude Trampoline Park has been a favorite, specially when the kids need to burn off some serious energy. If you’ve got any other local recs, send them our way!

The gist: Round Rock approved a design contract for Fire Station 11 near A.W. Grimes and University, close to Ascension Seton. The $10.5M project includes an 800-sq-ft police satellite office with its own entrance.

Why it matters: This is the third station funded by 2023 voter-approved bonds, part of a growing network to keep up with Round Rock’s rapid growth. More coverage means quicker response times and safer neighborhoods.

What’s next: McKinney York Architects will lead the design—same team behind the city’s two newest stations. Construction timeline to follow.

The gist: Round Rock’s Communications and Marketing team won nine awards (five of them first place) at this year’s TAMIO conference for standout videos, photography, social media, and crisis communication.

Why it matters: From police updates to local business videos, these wins highlight how Round Rock keeps residents informed, connected, and proud of their city.

What’s next: The city plans to keep raising the bar. Expect more creative content showcasing Round Rock’s people, places, and progress.

Just off the town square, this cozy cottage cafĆ© is the definition of charm. With a menu full of fresh, flavorful fare, think portobello paninis, croissant sandwiches, and coconut cream pie with a citrusy twist. It’s an easy favorite for brunch or a casual lunch.

I love to come here and sit under the shady patio, sip a lavender lemonade, and enjoy a delicious meal with friends. The cinnamon rolls are legendary, so don’t skip dessert!

2051 Gattis School Rd #630, Round Rock

This unassuming Round Rock gem dishes out bold Mediterranean flavors with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Fan favorites include the creamy hummus, eggplant wrap, and chicken tawooq over rice. They’re all packed with flavor and served in generous portions.

The vibe is casual, with fast, friendly service and a focus on fresh, made-to-order meals. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or taking dinner to go, it’s a solid spot that locals keep coming back to.
