Is it just us, or has this winter been brutal for sickness? Over here, it’s been one thing after another. As soon as one of us starts feeling better, someone else comes down with something. We’ve basically been passing germs around nonstop, despite disinfecting everything in sight.

I’ve been giving the kids Little Warrior immunity booster since the start of the school year, and I really thought it was helping at first. The fall felt manageable. But these past couple of months? Not so much.

We are very ready to be done with this sick season. Anything working well in your house? I’ll take all the tips!

In today’s Scoop:

🗳️ Vote with confidence, know your spot
🍲 Serve, care, and spread love
🛁 Soaps that pamper and delight
🥢 Tapas, cocktails, and friendly flair

🗳️ Williamson County Primary Voting Locations

The Gist: If you’re planning to vote on Election Day, March 3, Williamson County voters will need to head to their assigned precinct location. During early voting, you can still use any polling place on the county’s list, which makes things a little more flexible. To find your specific Election Day spot, you can check the Texas Secretary of State voter portal using your name and date of birth, or your driver’s license or voter ID number.

If you’re not in Williamson County, registered voters in every Texas county can find their polling locations and voting hours at VoteTexas.gov, the state’s official voter portal.

Why It Matters: Double-checking your polling place ahead of time can save you from last-minute scrambling. A little planning goes a long way on Election Day, so it’s worth taking a minute now to make sure you know exactly where to go.

🚌 New Commuter Bus Routes Launch

The Gist: Starting March 2, CARTS will run two new express commuter routes to downtown Austin. One serves Bastrop and Smithville, the other stops in Georgetown and Round Rock. Rides are free for a limited time, funded by Austin’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grant and the EPA.

Why It Matters: The routes aim to ease traffic on Hwy. 71, Hwy. 290, and I-35 while offering a convenient, greener commuting option. It’s nice to have a stress-free alternative to sitting in traffic during your daily drive.

🐾 New Pet Microchip Scanners in Round Rock

The Gist: The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter just added four self-service microchip scanners around town, called “Reunion Stations.” If you find a lost dog or cat, you can scan their microchip right there and follow the QR code instructions to help connect them with their owner.

Why It Matters: We’ve all seen those “missing pet” posts, and it’s always stressful for everyone involved. These stations make it easier for neighbors to help reunite pets with their families quickly and safely. It’s such a simple idea, but a really meaningful addition for our community.

What’s Next: A fifth Reunion Station is planned for Monster Mini Golf on Gattis School Road.

💰 Round Rock ISD Previews 2026-27 Budget

The Gist: Round Rock ISD is starting to plan its budget for the 2026–27 school year. Right now, the district expects to bring in about $492 million and spend about $490 million. District leaders say declining enrollment, rising costs, and changes in property values are all playing a role. They’re proposing at least a 10% reduction across department budgets to help balance things.

Why It Matters: Budget changes can impact programs, staffing, and services across the district. With enrollment shifting and education funding continuing to evolve, these conversations matter for families and our community. It’s good to see the district looking ahead and planning carefully.

What’s Next: The board will continue reviewing and discussing the budget over the next few months, with final approval required before the new fiscal year begins July 1.
