The Gist: Culver’s Georgetown, opened in October 2024 by Andrew and Kristina Gravely with partner Jason Suplita, is quickly becoming a community favorite. The locally owned restaurant focuses on fresh food, supporting local schools through partnerships with Georgetown ISD, and creating growth opportunities for its employees. Monthly events like Kids Night and Senior Night help bring neighbors together.

Why It Matters: It’s always nice when a restaurant feels like a true neighbor. Culver’s is not only serving up tasty food, it’s also investing in local schools, creating opportunities for young workers, and giving families and seniors another friendly place to gather around town.

The Gist: Georgetown plans a 3-mile, 30-inch waterline along CR 255 to serve about 25,000 customers in northwest Georgetown. The $10.6 million project is funded with $3.5 million from federal sources and $7.1 million from the city. The line will connect to the Daniels Mountain water storage tank and tie into existing lines on CR 289 and Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

Why It Matters: This waterline supports growth in northwest Georgetown, making it possible for new homes, businesses, and economic development in the area. Residents are looking forward to more reliable water as the community grows.

The Gist: Hutto City Council approved a Feb. 5 resolution to move forward with funding infrastructure for Phase 3 of Prairie Winds, a growing new neighborhood community in Hutto. Improvement Area No. 2 covers 62 acres planned for 192 homes, with new streets, sidewalks, water and wastewater lines, and drainage improvements. A public hearing is scheduled for March 12 before any homeowner assessments are officially approved.

Why It Matters: As Prairie Winds continues to grow, these assessments help ensure the neighborhood has the roads and utilities needed to support new families moving in. Many residents are keeping an eye on how the costs and development will shape the community.
