Culver’s in Georgetown, opened in October 2024 by franchisee Andrew Gravely and business partner Jason Suplita, has focused on both community engagement and employee growth. Gravely, who previously started his career with Culver’s in Florida, chose Georgetown for its small-town atmosphere and local ties.
The restaurant serves a variety of options, including salads, seafood, sandwiches, burgers, chicken, and sides such as cheese curds and pretzel bites. One of the most popular items is the ButterBurger, made with fresh ground beef and a buttered, toasted bun. Culver’s also prepares vanilla and chocolate frozen custard in-store every two hours, which can be customized with toppings such as fresh fruit, candy, nuts, or cookie dough.
Community involvement
Gravely emphasized that supporting the local community is a key part of the restaurant’s mission. The Georgetown location engages with Georgetown ISD through profit shares and free meal donations as attendance incentives. Culver’s as a company also contributes to education and agriculture through initiatives like the Culver’s Foundation and the Thank You Farmers Project, which has donated over $6.5 million to agriculture.
Employee development
Gravely takes pride in mentoring younger employees and fostering leadership skills. He hosts a book club with managers to build management and relationship skills, and he enjoys watching employees grow into leadership roles over time.
Events and future plans
The Georgetown Culver’s hosts monthly community events, including Kids Night on the first Monday of each month and Senior Night on the second Tuesday. Gravely plans to continue these events and hopes to expand to an additional location in the future.
