It still feels like there’s plenty of time before Christmas, but let’s be honest, once Thanksgiving hits, it’s game on. December always flies by in a blur of parties, tree lightings, cookie-baking days, gift wrapping, and of course, checking what our little Elfie is up to every morning. 🎅🏼

That’s why I’m trying to get a jump on my shopping now. I love finding gifts from local makers. We’ve got some seriously talented neighbors creating beautiful things, and I’m definitely going to visit a few of the craft fairs and holiday markets in the coming weeks. Hope to see you there!

🏫 Georgetown ISD seeks community input to name new schools

The Gist: Georgetown ISD is inviting the community to submit name nominations for its 12th elementary school and 5th middle school, both set to open in August 2026 near East View High School. Suggestions can honor local people, places, or historical events and must include a short description of their significance. Nominations are open until tomorrow, Nov. 14, via online forms.

Why It Matters: Each new name will help celebrate Georgetown’s growing community and rich history. It’s a meaningful way for residents to leave their mark on the next chapter of GISD.

🥫 Help The Caring Place create hunger-free holidays

The Gist:
The Caring Place in Georgetown is running its annual Hunger Free Holidays Food Drive through Dec. 31, with a goal of collecting 350,000 pounds of food for local families. You can donate non-perishable items at 2000 Railroad Ave., or make a monetary donation. Every $1 provides up to 8 pounds of food through local partnerships!
