OK, I could really use your help. I’m usually the mom who has Halloween costumes picked out by July, but this year I’m stumped! Part of it is that my daughter is set on K-Pop Demon Hunters, but I’m about 99.9% sure every girl her age will be in the exact same K-Pop outfit.
We always do family costumes, but I’m officially out of brilliant ideas. I’m toying with a few (see poll), but if you’ve got something that would be adorable for our little family of four, drop me a comment and help me out!

Help us decide on costumes this year!
- ✨K-Pop Demon Hunters (my daughter would be very happy!)
- 🕺 1950s Attire (think Grease with leather jackets and poodle skirts)
- 💚 The Grinch Theme (Whoville crew plus one very grumpy green guy)
- 🍫 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (so many colorful characters to choose from)
- 💡 Other (Share your brilliant ideas!)

🎶 Two Step Inn 2026 gets fan-friendly upgrades

The Gist: Georgetown’s Two Step Inn festival is back April 18–19, 2026, with some welcome updates to keep fans comfy. Expect more bathrooms, extra entry lanes, fewer tickets for roomier crowds, and yes, outside chairs are finally allowed at San Gabriel Park.
Why It Matters: With headliners like Brooks & Dunn and Chris Stapleton, it is already one of the most anticipated weekends of the year. And after last year’s rain, we’ll be hoping for blue skies this time. With the new changes, locals can look forward to great music, a little more breathing room, and that hometown festival feel.

🎆 Music, fireworks, and a brand new stage

The Gist: Round Rock is getting ready to show off its brand new Lakeview stage and pavilion at Old Settlers Park on Saturday, Nov. 15. Expect a ribbon-cutting, live music from Allen Stone, and the Frontier Days fireworks show (finally happening after being rained out). These upgrades are part of a bigger batch of bond-funded improvements, including new playgrounds, updated sports facilities, and an expansion of Rock’N River Water Park.
Why It Matters: The new Lakeview area is designed to be a true gathering place. It will host concerts, community events, and cultural celebrations. It also gives us all another reason to spend more time at the park!

🗳️ Deadline nears to register for Nov. 4 election

The Gist: Texans must register to vote or update their information by Oct. 6 to cast ballots in the Nov. 4 election. Voters will decide on 17 proposed amendments to the state constitution along with local races, with early voting starting Oct. 20.
Why It Matters: From property taxes to local leadership, the outcomes will shape daily life across Texas. It’s a good time to double-check your registration so your voice is heard this fall. Every vote helps shape the community we share.
