Round Rock is preparing to celebrate the grand opening of its new Lakeview special events area at Old Settlers Park with a night of live music, community spirit, and fireworks.

The Lakeview Kickoff: A Stone in the Park event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15, at 6 p.m. at 3300 E. Palm Valley Blvd. Headlining the evening is acclaimed soul and R&B artist Allen Stone, who will take the stage after a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Craig Morgan and City Council members. The celebration will conclude with a large-scale fireworks show, featuring pyrotechnics originally intended for this year’s Frontier Days before weather forced a cancellation.

A new gathering place

The Lakeview stage and pavilion mark the first major improvement at Old Settlers Park funded by the 2023 voter-approved general obligation bonds. The two-story pavilion nearly triples the footprint of the old structure, offering more space for concerts, cultural programming, and community gatherings. The upgrades also include larger, modern restroom facilities to better serve both festivalgoers and everyday park visitors.

What’s next for Old Settlers Park

The Lakeview expansion is part of a broader slate of improvements across the park. Upcoming projects include:

  • A new Joanne Land Playground

  • Expansion of Rock’N River Waterpark

  • Construction of an athletic performance center

  • New tennis and pickleball courts

  • Improvements to Harrell Parkway and pedestrian walkways

  • Expansion of the Multipurpose Complex

Community invitation

City officials are encouraging residents and visitors to be part of this milestone as Old Settlers Park unveils its newest venue. With live music, a ribbon-cutting, and a fireworks finale, the Lakeview Kickoff is set to launch a new chapter for one of Round Rock’s most popular destinations.
