We love putting the Scoop together each week, and it’s even better knowing it lands with neighbors like you. Our favorite way to grow is through word of mouth, and referrals truly are the best compliment.
So if you enjoy the Scoop and know someone else who would too, send them our way! Think of it as having a built-in plus-one for local events, new restaurants, or volunteer opportunities. Everything is more fun with a friend, and we’d love to welcome them into the crew.
Also, if you know anyone in the Leander area, point them to Leander Scoop so they don’t miss out on what’s happening in their neck of the woods. Thanks, as always, for the incredible support!

🏫 Georgetown ISD adding new campuses

Image from: https://www.wilcosun.com/
The Gist: Georgetown ISD is breaking ground this October on its fourth high school as part of a $649.5M bond plan to keep up with rapid enrollment growth. Over the next three years, the district will open High School No. 4, Middle School No. 5, and Elementary School No. 12 to serve 4,400 additional students.
The new Frost Elementary, located at the former Benold Middle School site, opened this school year and doubled the school’s capacity. Looking ahead, the new middle and elementary schools are scheduled to open for the 2026 school year, and the new high school will open in fall 2028.
Why It Matters: Georgetown is projected to add 6,000 more students in the next decade. The new campuses will reduce portable classrooms and preserve 5A classification for high schools, giving students more chances to participate in academics, arts, and athletics.

📖 A Friendship Book Kids Will Treasure

My Friends and I is a friendship book created by local mom Birgit Sund of Jonestown. It’s designed for kids ages 5–12 to pass around and fill with all their favorites, their future dreams, and photos. Think of it as part yearbook, part memory book, and all heart.
With a new school year underway, it’s a sweet way for kids to connect, make new friends, and create a keepsake packed with personality. The book is available online and in local shops across Pflugerville, Cedar Park, Austin, and more.
We have copies for our own kiddos, and they have been hooked. They want everyone to join in: friends, cousins, teachers. There has even been talk of leaving them out for Santa to fill out in December! It’s super cute, loads of fun, and we love supporting a local mom’s creative work.
