After the rush of December, this month gives us a chance to slow down a bit. Fewer commitments. Quieter weekends. More space to reset routines and catch up at home. It’s when local coffee shops feel extra cozy, parks are less crowded, and family nights don’t compete with a dozen other plans.
It’s also a planning month. Businesses are gearing up for spring, and we’re mapping out trips along with spring and summer plans. Big changes often start quietly, and January is where a lot of that groundwork happens.
It definitely feels different after all the December craziness, but I’m kind of loving it. Hope you are too!

The staff is genuinely friendly and makes you feel comfortable right away. You leave feeling looser, more rested, and really glad to have a place like this nearby.

La Vaquerita Creamery is a sweet little stop for families and ice cream lovers in Georgetown. Everything is made from scratch, and you can taste the difference in every bite. The staff is patient, happy to let you sample a few flavors, and never makes you feel rushed, even with indecisive kids in tow.
The shop is clean, bright, and welcoming, and the rotating flavors mean there’s almost always something new to try. It’s the kind of place you visit once and immediately add to your regular ice cream rotation.
Meet Mist, a 6-year-old medium mixed breed with a sweet brown and black coat and a sunny personality. This friendly girl loves meeting new people and has a gentle, eager-to-please nature that makes her a joy to be around.
Mist would thrive in a loving home where she can be a loyal companion and soak up attention. Dog, cat, and kid compatibility are currently unknown. Fostered in Williamson County.
