Is it just me, or is this February weather seriously amazing? Two weeks ago we were bundled up, and now we’re all soaking in the sun. Definitely not complaining!
I hope last week’s special events guide helped you get your month in order! If you missed it, no worries—the link is down below.
Now, let’s talk Super Bowl. Based on last week’s poll, 40% of you are cheering for the Chiefs, 34% for the Eagles, and 26% are just in it for the snacks! Honestly, I think we’re both team C as well. If you’re still deciding where to watch, check out some great spots we’ve highlighted below.

🚜 Hutto's Road Expansion
Williamson County’s $448 million investment in road expansions around Hutto, including FM 973 and the East Wilco Highway, will ease traffic and foster development. Future improvements aim to enhance connectivity between Hutto and Taylor.
Long-term plans also include a new freeway to link both cities and expand Chandler Road. These infrastructure upgrades are crucial to supporting regional growth.
🏗️ Downtown Georgetown's New District
Georgetown’s new Light and Water Works District, an outdoor event space downtown, is planning to open in July. Sitting between the public library and Water Works building, it will include a stage, event lawn, shaded seating, and a food truck zone. Looks like a great addition to the city—we’re excited to see it come to life!
Construction started in January, with parking and driveway demolition already finished. Part of the city’s $2.35 million City Center project, the site could eventually include a market hall inside the Water Works building.
🚧 Williams Drive Construction Continues
Heads up, Georgetown drivers—expect some delays on Williams Drive. One northwest-bound lane between Park Lane and Rivery Boulevard is closed daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. while crews build a new turn lane for a private project. The closure runs through Feb. 17.
Construction for Williams Plaza kicked off on Jan. 28, though progress depends on the weather. The area is also getting a major upgrade with The Commons at Rivery, a mixed-use development that broke ground in 2023.
