We've got some news we're finally ready to share, and we're fired up about it. We just launched WilCo Seniors, a brand-new newsletter and media brand built specifically for seniors in Williamson County. It's your source for everything that matters to you locally: events, resources, deals, connections, and a community that understands what this stage of life looks like here in WilCo.

Sarah Odom is leading the brand, and she's already planning our first Dinner Club event and building out a calendar of ways to bring seniors together across the county. Sarah's mission is to feature real locals, tell real stories, and create genuine connections, not churn out generic content. If you're a senior in Williamson County (or you know one), head over and subscribe right HERE. We built this for you.

Speaking of seniors, us with the kids’ Mimi at the Leander Spring Fling last Saturday! 💗

🚀 Round Rock Startup Program Sees Early Wins

The Gist: Round Rock just celebrated a pretty big milestone. Its very first startup accelerator, gBETA Round Rock, wrapped up its inaugural seven-week program with five local companies crossing the finish line. The program connects entrepreneurs with coaches, mentors, investors, and customers to help them grow. The city put $1.2 million in over three years, and that bet is already paying off. The first group of graduates has raised more than $500,000, grown revenue by over 10%, and doubled their customer base.
Why It Matters: Good ideas deserve a real shot, and that's exactly what gBETA is giving local entrepreneurs. Programs like this help turn "what if" into "what's next" right here in Round Rock. It's exciting to watch our community become a place where new businesses don't just dream big, they actually grow.
🚌 RRISD Bus Cuts Stir Concern

The Gist: Round Rock ISD is planning to cut several bus routes for next school year, which would affect 892 students. Families south of Spicewood Springs Road would need to find another way to get kids to school, and the nearest walking path is about 1.21 miles with no sidewalks, streetlights, or safe separation from traffic. It's a change that has a lot of parents talking.
Why It Matters: Nobody wants to feel like their kid's safety is being compromised, and that's the concern a lot of families are raising. Fixing the infrastructure piece isn't a quick fix since it involves multiple agencies, so this one is worth keeping an eye on.
🚨 WilCo Emergency Communications Hits Milestone

The Gist: Williamson County Emergency Communications just earned a pretty big honor. It’s now the first Tri-ACE agency in Texas and one of only 32 in the world. That recognition reflects a high level of training and excellence in medical, police, and fire dispatch.
Why It Matters: In an emergency, the voice on the other end of the line matters a lot. This is a nice reminder that the people handling those calls are highly trained and ready to help when it counts most. It’s reassuring to know our community has that kind of support in place.

Coming Soon:
🍑 Cobblers Are Coming to Town

Round Rock is about to get a little sweeter. Peach Cobbler Factory is opening its first Austin-area franchise this month in Sky Plaza, bringing warm fruit cobblers, creamy puddings, cinnamon rolls, cookies, bottled teas, and smoothies to 2000 I-35, Ste. K4.
With locations in 25 states and 13 already in Texas, this newcomer promises classic comfort desserts served up fresh, just in time for spring cravings.
