Fire Station 10 milestone

Construction continues on Fire Station 10 in Round Rock, where crews recently reached the highest structural point of the building. The city marked the progress with a topping out ceremony held in late November.

The station is being built along Old Settlers Boulevard near Red Bud Lane. The project carries a cost of 9.1 million dollars and is expected to be completed in fall 2026.

Bond funded public safety work

Fire Station 10 is one of three new fire stations funded through the 2023 voter approved bond package. That bond included 44 million dollars dedicated to public safety improvements throughout the city. City officials have said the projects are intended to keep pace with growth and improve response times.

Plans for Fire Station 11

In addition to Fire Station 10, Round Rock has taken steps toward building Fire Station No. 11. The city recently filed paperwork with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for the new station, which is planned for property purchased from Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital.

The future Fire Station 11 will also include a satellite office for the Round Rock Police Department. Construction on that facility is expected to be finished by the end of 2027.

Recent completion

The first fire station approved as part of the 2023 bond program, Fire Station 1, was completed in November 2024.

Together, these projects reflect the city’s continued investment in expanding emergency services as Round Rock grows.
