One thing I love about spring in Leander is it’s carnival season. Our kids’ school had such a fun one last week, and it was exactly the kind of Friday night that makes me so happy. There were bounce houses, obstacle courses, swing rides, train rides, and a gaming truck, all of which kept the kids smiling for hours.

They also had a few unique things, like airbrush tattoos and caricature artists, that gave the night a little extra sparkle. It was simple, easy family fun and one of those sweet community nights you just want more of.

If you’re looking for a bounce house rental of your own, especially with all the summer parties coming up, I highly recommend A+ Bounce House Party Rentals. They’ve been by far the easiest bounce house company we’ve worked with, and they’ll be our first call next time too. See more info below, and be sure to grab our special coupon code for $25 off!

🤠 Two Step Inn Hits Georgetown

The Gist: Two Step Inn takes over San Gabriel Park April 18 and 19, drawing 60,000 to 70,000 fans. Full park closure runs through April 24, with nearby lane and street impacts. The Georgetown Recreation Center, McMaster Athletic Complex, Transfer Station, and animal shelter adoptions will be closed during the festival. Austin Avenue is not walkable to the park due to bridge construction, so use College Street instead and expect traffic delays nearby. If you’ve never been, Two Step Inn is a big one around here, with major country artists, multiple stages, food and drinks, and a whole lot of honky-tonk energy packed into one weekend.

Why It Matters: This is one of the biggest weekends of the year in Georgetown, and while it does mean heavier traffic and a few temporary closures, it also brings a lot of fun and excitement to town. If you’re heading to the festival, expect a lively weekend with big crowds and great music. If you’re not, it’s still a good one to plan around so you’re not caught off guard near the park.

🏆 Round Rock Ranks Among Nation’s Best

The Gist: Round Rock just landed at No. 9 on Livability’s 2026 Top 100 Best Places to Live list, making this the third year in a row the city has earned a spot. Out of more than 2,000 cities considered, Round Rock stood out for its strong job market, great parks, safe neighborhoods, and more affordable cost of living compared to Austin.

Why It Matters: This is the kind of thing locals probably aren’t surprised by, but it’s still nice to see it recognized on a national list. For the people who live here, it’s a reminder that Round Rock keeps finding that sweet spot between growth, opportunity, and feeling like a genuinely good place to call home.

Just Opened:

🥩 French Steakhouse, Refined Nights

1500 Rivery Blvd Suite 2175, Georgetown

Some nights call for something a little more polished, and Sovian Restaurant & Cocktail Lounge delivers with ease. The new spot just opened last week and is already making an impression with truffle deviled eggs, wagyu skewers, and a lobster mac and cheese that quickly becomes the table favorite. The menu leans French steakhouse with thoughtful plating and rich flavors.

Warm service, a hands-on owner, and a deep wine and cocktail list make it feel special without feeling stiff. Perfect for celebrations or a lingering dinner.
