Popular Round Rock Restaurant Expands North
Hao Hao Chinese & Vietnamese Restaurant has opened its second location at 3010 Williams Drive in Georgetown's Bar W Marketplace, near the Leander border. The new establishment marks the final restaurant to open in the recently developed shopping center, completing the diverse culinary offerings in this growing commercial area.
Building on the success of their original Round Rock location, owners Jimmy and Lisa Tran have brought their established menu and reputation for quality to serve residents in northwest Georgetown and southern Leander. The 3,200-square-foot restaurant features seating for 80 guests, with additional outdoor seating available on the covered patio.
Hao Hao's menu showcases dishes from both Chinese and Vietnamese culinary traditions, with separate sections highlighting specialties from each cuisine. The extensive offerings include familiar Chinese-American favorites alongside authentic regional specialties rarely found in suburban establishments.
Vietnamese selections feature several varieties of pho (beef noodle soup) served with traditional accompaniments, banh mi sandwiches on house-made bread, and vermicelli bowls topped with grilled meats and fresh herbs. Chinese offerings include both Americanized classics and regional specialties from Sichuan and Cantonese traditions.
Signature dishes include the Five-Spice Roasted Duck ($22.95), House Special Lobster with Ginger and Scallion (market price), and an extensive selection of vegetarian options featuring house-made tofu. Lunch specials are available Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 3 PM, with most combinations priced between $10.95 and $13.95.
Contemporary Design with Traditional Elements
The restaurant's interior blends modern design elements with traditional Asian influences. Large windows provide natural light throughout the dining room, while decorative screens and artwork create distinct seating areas. A semi-open kitchen allows diners to glimpse the wok stations where many dishes are prepared to order.
Special attention has been paid to takeout service, with a dedicated entrance and waiting area for carryout orders. Online ordering is available through the restaurant's website, with curbside pickup options for customers who prefer contactless service.
Community Reception and Future Plans
Early customer response has been enthusiastic, particularly from Georgetown residents who previously traveled to Round Rock to visit the original location. The restaurant has created 25 new jobs, with most positions filled by local residents.
