The Garey Park splash pad in Georgetown will undergo renovations following City Council approval on Jan. 13. The work is part of routine maintenance designed to preserve the pad’s safety and functionality.
Renovation details
The project will address flagstone deterioration and maintain the anti-slip surfacing throughout the splash pad. City officials approved a $179,041 contract with BuyBoard to complete the work. Renovations are expected to begin in late January and finish by mid-March.
Splash pad history
Since opening in 2018, the 7,000-square-foot splash pad has been the park’s most popular seasonal attraction. Open April through October, it features 28 motion-activated water elements.
