We spent Sunday at the Sazón Latin Food Festival at The Crossover, and it was just a really good day. The weather was perfect, the music was fun, and there were so many great, unique vendors to check out along with plenty of food to try.

One thing we always appreciate about events at The Crossover is how easy they are with kids. Ours bounced between the playground and the festival while we got to enjoy the music and browse. Having space for them to run around makes the whole outing feel relaxed instead of stressful. We’ll definitely be back to check out more Crossover events this spring.

🏓 Round Rock Opens New Pickleball Courts

The Gist: Round Rock Parks and Recreation has opened new pickleball courts at the Adult Recreation Complex in Old Settlers Park. The courts give players of all skill levels a dedicated place to play, whether it’s a casual game with friends or something a little more competitive.

Why It Matters: Pickleball continues to grow in popularity, and these new courts help meet the demand from local players. It also adds another fun way for residents to stay active, spend time outdoors, and connect with neighbors.

🤠 Rowdy Cowboy Brings Sports Bar to Round Rock

The Gist: Rowdy Cowboy, a sports bar and grill, will open its first Central Texas location in Round Rock on March 13 at 2401 S. I-35. The bar will feature 32 beers on tap, 64 TVs broadcasting live sports, and a menu of burgers, wings, steaks, pizzas, and mixed drinks.

Why It Matters: Round Rock residents have a new spot to grab a drink, catch the game, and hang out with friends. It’s always fun to see another lively place open up where neighbors can gather, especially for big game days or casual nights out. We love seeing new businesses join the local scene and can’t wait to check it out ourselves.

Meet Smokey Bear, a 2-year-old large mixed breed with a handsome grey coat and a big personality to match his 85 lb frame. This house-trained boy is playful, smart, and always ready for fun. Smokey loves fetch, water splashes, car rides, and agility games.

He knows sit, stay, come, and even heads to his place at mealtime. He is still polishing his leash skills but thrives with an active family who can match his energy.

🥙 Warm Pita, Rich Flavors Inside

1400 E Old Settlers Blvd #110, Round Rock

Usta Kababgy is as beautiful as it is delicious. The chandeliers, carved tables, and detailed ceiling make it feel special, but it’s still comfortable enough for a relaxed family dinner.

The pita comes out hot from the oven, soft and ready for hummus or one of the house-made spicy spreads. Mixed grill plates, kofta, and tagines bring big, bold flavor to the table. Order Moroccan tea or baklava at the end and take your time.

🍜 Pho, Fried Rice & Comfort

2098 Muirfield Bend Dr #110, Hutto

Some nights you just want a sure thing, and Fortune House has quietly become that spot. The pho is rich and fragrant, the beef lo mein and combo fried rice satisfy in that East Coast takeout way, and the crab rangoons disappear fast.

Portions are generous, milk tea is a treat, and even special requests like soft steamed tofu are handled with care. Cozy, clean, and consistently good, it’s an easy favorite.
