Spring break was just really good this year. The weather felt practically like summer the whole week (minus a couple of days), and we even got some pool time in. OK fine, I wasn't brave enough to actually get in the water just yet, but the kids sure were! We took full advantage of some great events around town, got to see friends, and just had a little more room to breathe than a typical week allows.
There’s always something fun happening around here, and it makes it so easy to fill a week off with good memories. To those of you who got a break too, I hope you enjoyed it and soaked up some of that beautiful Texas sun!
💧 Pflugerville Water Line Fixed, Limits Stay
The Gist: Pflugerville has fixed its fifth waterline break, restoring flow from the Colorado River to Lake Pflugerville. Even with repairs, water levels remain low, and Stage 3 restrictions continue, limiting residents to indoor use only. Officials say it could take at least 60 days for the lake to recover.
Why It Matters: Residents must keep conserving water while the lake refills, especially after repeated breaks disrupted supply. It’s good to see progress on repairs while the community works together to conserve and recover.
🛍️ Petco, Dollar Tree Coming to Hutto
The Gist: Petco and Dollar Tree are the latest additions coming to Townwest Commons in Hutto. They’ll join a growing retail lineup that already includes Academy Sports + Outdoors, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Hooky Entertainment, and the Hutto Family YMCA. City leaders say the new stores reflect both strong growth and continued demand for more shopping options nearby.
Why It Matters: As Hutto keeps growing, additions like this make day-to-day life a little easier for residents. More retail means more convenience, more variety, and fewer reasons to leave town for everyday errands.
🛍️ Round Rock Outlets Getting a Refresh
The Gist: Round Rock Premium Outlets are getting a makeover, with updates already underway. Plans include new paint, improved signage, upgraded common areas, renovated restrooms, better landscaping, and a refreshed entrance.
Why It Matters: These kinds of updates can make a good shopping trip feel even better. For a place so many locals already know and visit, a fresh look like this just makes it feel a little more welcoming.
