A Fresh Stage for Penfold Theatre

After nearly two decades of performing in shared or temporary spaces, Penfold Theatre Company has officially found a home of its own. The professional theatre troupe now operates from a 6,400-square-foot venue at Rock Creek Plaza in Round Rock, offering a consistent stage for its shows, classes, and community programs.

Located off Interstate 35, the new venue marks a turning point for the company as it launches its 18th season with added stability and a larger community presence.

Expanded Programming in a Dedicated Space

With its new space, Penfold is rolling out an expanded lineup of productions and educational opportunities. Highlights from the upcoming season include The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and the holiday favorite A Tuna Christmas. The venue also serves as a base for youth programming like summer camps and acting workshops.

The larger, permanent setting gives Penfold more flexibility to build long-running shows and host multiple programs simultaneously—something that wasn’t always feasible in borrowed spaces.

Community Roots and Local Support

Penfold’s move into Rock Creek Plaza is bolstered by a grant from the City of Round Rock, reflecting public investment in the area’s cultural growth. The company’s mission to share stories that resonate with Central Texas audiences continues to guide its programming and partnerships.

By embedding itself more deeply in the Round Rock community, Penfold aims to create not just entertainment, but connection—something local residents can participate in, both on and off the stage.
