Amazon has officially started construction on a long-awaited delivery station in Round Rock, reviving plans that were previously put on hold during the company’s 2022 nationwide pause on new builds. The facility, located at 2525 County Road 172, is set to span 141,000 square feet and represents a $72.5 million investment.
Crews are currently working to clear and grade the land, with a tentative completion date set for September 2025. This marks a notable step forward after initial plans were shelved due to shifting company priorities during a period of slowed expansion. The site is situated in a growing industrial corridor in southeast Round Rock, not far from other major distribution centers.
Once operational, the station is projected to create nearly 200 jobs. These positions will support Amazon’s "last mile" delivery operations, helping to expedite the final leg of package delivery to local customers. Notably, this estimate does not include jobs held by third-party delivery drivers contracted by Amazon.
While construction is now underway, specific hiring dates and the official opening timeline have not yet been released. Given Amazon’s typical rollout process for new delivery stations, more information on job applications and operational plans is expected closer to the buildout's completion.
